An Palestinian-American adolescent who spent 270 days in Israeli detention absent formal charges gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

The US state department applauded Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.

Via family representatives, the youth's uncle conveyed their "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"At this moment, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives the immediate medical attention he needs after being subjected to harsh conditions and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."

American authorities announced ongoing to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"American leadership gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," the department emphasized.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to US authorities and the White House, urging greater action to secure his release.

He had not seen nor direct contact since the arrest, learning information solely about his son's condition through judicial records.

Mohammed was held without charge in Ofer prison in the West Bank.

The facility also contains grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted of serious terrorism offences and murder.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, based on prison authority data.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, document cases involving abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities was beaten to death by settlement residents during a confrontation in July.

During that period, the Israeli military said authorities were looking into information regarding a civilian had been killed.

The two cousins had worked together within the family's frozen treats establishment from Tampa.

No one has been charged regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We demand United States leadership to ensure our family's safety," family representatives emphasized.
