Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
