Barça Set to Play Historic Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
