'Living a Nightmare': Families of Unaccounted For Young People Desperately Seek Information After Alpine Blaze

The families of teens missing after a tragic blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an excruciating period of uncertainty for official news and pleading for clues about their family members publicly.

The blaze engulfed the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Verified video depict the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the victims of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. Officials noted on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with work still underway to name the other six.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been taking to online platforms to request clues about their missing relatives who were in attendance that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The fate of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his family.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, originally from Genoa but now residing in Dubai.

The national sporting body has stated that he is dead, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who embodied dedication and true sportsmanship."

His father, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An official spokesperson has indicated that a official announcement of his death is still pending.

Other Cases

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His parent explained that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with a group and found himself at the venue.

"A close friend said they fled after the fire started and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.

One of his teachers stated, "I remember his good nature and smile, combined with great responsibility. He would frequently ask if get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on that night, according to sources.

Her brother has shared an appeal on social media, saying the relatives has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the situation.
